The Ivy method
What I analyse, what you receive.
At every step you know what is studied, why, in which order and in what form you will receive the recommendations.
The five levers
| Lever | What I analyse | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| Perception of space | Proportions, perspectives, circulation, views, shared/private zones, real use and constraints. | A reasoned diagnosis and plans that make the place easier to read and use. |
| Personal colour scheme | Tastes, culture, objects, orientation, daylight, contrasts and desired atmosphere. | A tailored palette, samples and references, recommendations by zone. |
| Light | Daylight, activities through the day, visual comfort and how materials are revealed. | Principles for general, task, indirect and accent lighting; selection of fittings. |
| Natural materials | Texture, maintenance, durability and how each material behaves in light. | A reasoned materials board, combinations, finishes and care advice. |
| Furniture | Proportions, storage, use, budget, kept, reclaimed or design furniture. | Layout, bespoke ideas, selection and reuse where relevant. |
Three steps
Listen
- Interview and questionnaire: use, tastes, habits, cultural references, objects you keep and budget constraints.
- Survey or plan analysis: circulation, perspectives, natural and artificial light, storage, existing materials and visible technical constraints.
Compose
- A clear direction: personal palette, materials, lighting scenarios, furniture and layout principles, with trade-offs and alternatives explained.
- Plans, references, samples or 3D renders depending on the package; your feedback and the included revisions are integrated.
Prepare
- Delivery of the agreed documents; on request, specifications and contractor tendering.
- At the end: your feedback and, if you agree, a testimonial and permission to publish the visuals.
Deliverables you can recognise
- Design mood board
- Material samples
- Annotated plans
- Lighting board
- 3D views
- Before / after
Published visuals stay true to the projects: each image states whether it is a render, a conceptual proposal or a completed project.
About perception
Research on perception, environment and use informs the design. It inspires choices; it is neither a medical diagnosis nor a promise of therapeutic effect.
Your questions
“I can do it myself.”
Of course. Ivy’s value is to structure choices, avoid inconsistencies and give you one shared vision before buying or building.
“I don’t have a big budget.”
You can start with a diagnosis or a single room, prioritise actions and separate the essential from the optional.
“I can’t picture the result.”
Plans, material references and 3D renders, depending on the package, let you see before you approve.
